St Mary’s Hampton Poyle is hosting a Coffee Morning with Bring & Buy and Bake Sale on Saturday 24th June, 10.30am – 12.30pm. Do come along to browse, buy, or just watch the world go by as you chat over a cup of coffee.

Did you know our Summer Sunday Teas are back at St Mary’s Kidlington? We started the season with a fabulous celebration on the coronation weekend. But they are no less joyful on an “ordinary” Sunday. Come and enjoy tea/coffee and homemade cakes between 3pm and 5pm in St Mary’s Refectory (round the back of the church).

We will be celebrating the Feast of Pentecost together with all the Christian churches in the village. The service will be held at 10.30am at Kidlington Baptist Church. Do join us for this special service if you can.

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is the annual meeting of all church supporters to review the past year, including the accounts, and to reflect on this and the way forward. It includes lots of essential admin, especially electing members of the Parochial Church Council, who are the trustees of the church as a charity. It begins with a (legally) separate Annual Parish Meeting (APM) for the election of churchwardens.

In 2023 these meetings will be held on Tuesday 9th May at 8pm, in St John’s, starting with the APM. You can find more details here.

The third of this season’s Winter Tea Talks will be at St John’s Church on Sunday 12th March, 3pm. Do join us.

Do join us at St John’s for the second in our 2023 series of Tea Talks – 3pm on 12th February.

Our traditional and very popular Tea Talks are back for another season – the second Sunday in January, February and March, starting at 3pm. The one important difference is that this year we will be holding the talks in St John’s rather than St Mary’s because it is so much easier to heat that building.

In January our speaker will be Sir Peter Ratcliffe, postponed from previous years, so we are delighted we can hear more about the work for which he was awarded a Nobel prize in 2019.

This year, as we move into our new Autumn season, we will be celebrating a Joint Parish Harvest Festival with Communion, for all ages and stages, in St John’s on Sunday 2nd October at 10am. Please join together as we reflect on Jesus the True Vine and ourselves as the branches. Kidlington Abundance Group will be with us pressing local apples afterwards, and our gifts are much needed by the food bank.
