TIG is a lively group of 11-18 year olds who meet monthly to enjoy a variety of activities, games, discussion, reflection and craft. Each session has a theme which primarily involves looking at a passage in the Bible and considering its relevance to the young peoples’ lives today. The group is open to all secondary school children in the parish and is currently attended by a mix of children from our regular congregation, our choristers and those who are not directly associated with the church.
We meet, usually at St John’s, on the second Sunday of the month from 7.00pm to 8.30pm.
We also have a Youth Homegroup for any one of secondary school age – meeting on the fourth Sunday of the month from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at St John’s Vicarage. Each week we’ll look at one of Jesus’s parables to see what we make of it and how it might have something to say to us. This will form the starting point of a discussion where anyone can raise or explore ideas and issues, ending with a short and simple time of prayer.
