Hiring St John’s

It was always intended that St John’s would be available for use by the local community as a hall as well as being an Anglican church. So parts of the building are available for hire whenever they are not needed for church activities.

The main hall at St John’s is a fabulously flexible and open space for all sorts of activities. That could be a dance or exercise class held on a regular basis. Or perhaps a birthday party with lots of young children enjoying fun and games (and even a bouncy castle). Alternatively you might want a smaller, cosy room for a meeting, and we can offer that too.

Times:
The hall and/or meeting room are available for community use
Monday to Friday: 9am to 10pm, Saturday: 9am to 6pm, Sunday: 12noon to 6pm. Other times may be possible by special arrangement.

The Community Hub @ St John’s does use the hall at some of these days/times and other local groups have a regular “slot” booked every week or month, but one-off bookings can be made for any other times.

Access:
Entrances to the Hall are wide enough for wheelchairs, push chairs etc. All facilities are on the same level, except for the exit to the rear garden, where a ramp is provided. There is widened access to the kitchen/toilet lobby and one toilet includes full disabled facilities, whilst the other has a baby-changing unit.

Charges:
The Hall and/or Meeting Room may be hired for £15 per hour, which includes use of the kitchen for preparing and serving drinks. For use of the full catering facilities the charge is £20 per hour. There is a heating surcharge of £2 per hour from October to April. Regular long-term users are offered reduced rates.

Facilities:

Transport:
Kidlington is easily reached by car via the A34, A44 or A40. Access to the church is via the service road parallel to the main road from Oxford to Kidlington (A4165). There is space for about 15 cars to park on the forecourt. Buses to/from Oxford stop on the main road only a minute’s walk from St John’s.
