Worship at St Mary’s Hampton Poyle

The church of St Mary’s Hampton Poyle is our much-loved small village church. The first written record of this building was in 1220 which means it is more than 800 years old. It is a beautiful building and a prayerful space. It is not uncommon for our prayers to be punctuated by the baaing of sheep from the field beside us and some people enjoy a walk across the fields from Kidlington to join the worship here.

We have regular morning services of Holy Communion and Morning prayer each month, and through the year we hold afternoon special services for Rogation (a walk of blessing around the village stopping to pray as we go), Harvest, All Souls, Christingle, Christmas Carols by Candle light, and a summer Pet Service.

Services here are smaller in numbers (8-15 people) and everyone is very welcome. You do not have to live in Hampton Poyle to come and worship with us.

Sometimes it is good to join a small community. We enjoy a cup of tea and chat afterwards and would love to welcome you.
