The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is the annual meeting of all church supporters to review the past year, including the accounts, and to reflect on this and the way forward. It includes lots of essential admin, especially electing members of the Parochial Church Council, who are the trustees of the church as a charity. It begins with a (legally) separate Annual Parish Meeting (APM) for the election of churchwardens.
In 2026 these meetings will be held on Tuesday 28th April at 8pm, in St John’s, starting with the APM. There will be a service of Holy Communion using an Iona liturgy at 7.30pm.
Everyone who is on the church Electoral Roll or is entered on a register of local government electors by reason of residence in the parish is entitled to vote for the churchwardens. Only people on the Electoral Roll can vote in the main APCM. The new Electoral Roll is now available in our churches. If you didn’t get an application to us before the closing date, then please do complete one now so your name can be added (but not till after the APCM). You can find out more here.
There are two sets of papers for the APCM (printed copies are available in our churches):
- the formal Annual Report & Accounts for 2025
- Papers for the Meeting (including agenda and reports on parish life giving more background to all our activities)
