Queen Elizabeth II

With the whole nation we mourn the loss of our Queen Elizabeth and give thanks for her 70 years of faithful service to our country and the commonwealth. We send our condolences to the Royal Family.

Our three churches are open during daylight hours during the period of national mourning: St Mary’s Kidlington from 9am to 7pm, St John’s and St Mary’s Hampton Poyle 9am to 5pm. In each there will be a book of condolences, and a place to lay flowers. Candles can also be lit in St Mary’s Kidlington.

The Kidlington Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held in St Mary’s Kidlington at 5.30pm on Sunday 18th September, taking the form of Choral Evensong.

There will be no Pause for Prayer on the morning of Monday 19th December, as we all focus on the Queen’s funeral.

Rest eternal grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
