Sunday 18th October 5.30pm
This Sunday the choir and choristers will be singing evensong at 5.30pm at St Mary’s. Music will include the introit “Hail gladdening light” by Sir John Stainer, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis with Fauxbourdons by William Byrd, Psalm 42 (“Like as the hart desireth the waterbrooks”) set to a beautiful chant by Sir Edward Bairstow, and the powerful anthem “O Lorde, the maker of al thing” by John Joubert.
There’ll also be a congregational hymn and an organ voluntary by one of our organ scholars. All are most welcome!
If you haven’t been to evensong before, why not give it a try?
