A Fun Day for All Ages: MOSES – THE JUKEBOX MUSICAL
Saturday 12th September 2026, 11am-5pm, in St Mary’s, Kidlington
Back in 2024 we had a really fun day together singing and staging the story of Joseph with well-known songs and music. Since January, we have been planning a follow-up event, and here it is!
We will be staging a scratch JUKE BOX MUSICAL based on the life of MOSES, up to his leading his people into the wilderness. The songs are all well-known and from a range of eras, from hit musicals like Oklahoma and Man of la Mancha, and from artists including Queen and Taylor Swift. The Narration linking the Songs is told by a Palace Guard from a script written by Justin. Rosemary and David Meara, along with the Making Group, have been working away at scenery, costumes and props.
No prep needed, just turn up on the day at St Mary’s, and musical maestro Huw Morgan will guide everyone through the music and staging. There’s an activity for everyone, with singing and non-singing parts, props to make and move (and play!), costumes to fit, make-up to apply, refreshments to supply, washing up to do, furniture to move, and lots of conversation and sheer fun throughout the day. It’s not a performance – just a day of fun.
We start at 11am (refreshments from 10.30) and will end by 5pm. Lunch at 1pm is bring-and-share, so do please bring something to share if you can. If you have small children who won’t last the day, no problem, bring them along at 3pm prompt, as one Act includes a flock of sheep and we need small people to play them on stage. See you on Saturday 12th September!
